The premier presentation of Valentin Yudashkin haute couture collection fall-winter 2007-2008 will take place on July 9, 2007. The new collection of Valentin Yudashkin is dedicated to the epoch of the English queen Elizabeth I. XVI century brought many new trends in England, including clothing. A concept named “English fashion” appeared at the same. Portraits of Elizabeth I, great Holbein's masterpieces, engravings and portraits of his contemporaries give us a view on unique the garments of the English ladies of the 16th century: luxury fabrics, woven by gold and silver or decorated with embroideries; immense sleeves; the deaf collars in different shapes, diverse in size, sometimes from the fabrics in four floors, that match to the same sleeves – it’s the typical detail of that time. Collar and sleeve are the “protagonists” in new collection of Valentin Yudashkin. They repeat the idea of English suit of that epoch. Hoop skirts, bufs, and the packed collars are in all collection, up to the ball dress. “We are making the collection of present day, leaving the sensation of the past in the components, Valentin Yudashkin says. - In case of a new collection I thought about the historical suit, but new forms came out. Sometimes you can take the stylistic elements of old cut, but it becomes absolutely modern thing”. New collection is created in the best traditions of haute couture with the use of unique fabrics. Specifically, entire luxury of that time is shown in fabrics - velvet, atlas, silk, thin broad cloth. Fabrics were created on the examples of pictures, and also of suits, storing in the London museum of Victoria and Albert. And they were made in unique factories of France and Italy, preserved age-old traditions weavings. The use of methods of lamination and duplicating creates complete sensation that fabrics came to us from that distant time. As usual the unique embroideries deserve special attention in the haute couture collections of Valentin Yudashkin. There are embroideries literally reproducing still life of Flemish masters, unique embroideries by feathers, silk tapes, metal threads and rhinestones, which were specially ordered for the collection in “Swarovski”. The hair-dos with the massive adornments, augmented by uncommon head-gear, complete the images.
The demonstration of new collection will take place on July 9 at 19:00 in the 1st pavilion of MOSFILM (Mosfilmovskaya street, 1).
